Here are a few pics of my latest bow 64'' ntn. It's made from pignut hickory. It's the one i was fretting about having 1'' of set. Here it looks more like an 1" and a half because of the string follow. I had just got done shooting it before i took the pics.

-
Thanks. Right around 60lbs at 28".
-
that will make a good huntin bow.
-
I sure hope so. It'll be that time again before we know it. Man i can't wait!
-
Very nice bow, set doesn't look bad at all. I bet she is a sweet shooter. Steve
-
Looks like a good hunter. Great looking bow.
-
yeah i cANT WAIT FOR HUNTIN EITHER :)
-
You said it was the one you were fretting about it, hope that doesn't happen, lol, your bow looks great.

I hope she don't fret either. So far i've been real lucky i've only had one bow die. This hickory is real forgiving.
-
That bow looks good to me.
-
Very nice bow. Congratulations. Jawge
-
That's a good looking piece of hickory, nice job.

You did well and ended up with a nice bow. Enjoy her and move on to your next one. ;D Pat
-
I wouldn't complain about that little bit of set, job well done
-
Thanks everyone. I'll be starting on another one as soon as the ky. klassic is over. Maybe i can find a stave of something new down there. All I've got left is hickory.
-
That looks like a dandy to me :). Like that tiller! Yep, huntin season will be here before we know it - hope I can have my gear ready by that time..
-
I think that the amount of Set you have is Minimal...ad it looks like you have a good Hunter there...Tiller is a little off right at the Fades towards the Tips....that could add to the Woods Fatigue too
-
Nice one. :) Good luck hunting with it.
-
Very well done. That little amount of set will make the bow better.
-
Very nice and a great candidate for March self bow of the month. Thanks for sharing.
-
Great looking bow.
What is wrong with having nothing but hickory left? If that is a bad thing you can send it to me. ;D Justin
-
Very nice bow! I've used hickory a few times myself on longbows backing it with ash and maple. I do like the looks of this one you've made very much. I also like that poundage you got from it! :)
-
Justin i don't guess there's anything wrong with it just would like to try somethin new. If it were'nt for hickory i probably would'nt have ever got a workin bow to begin with it's very forgiving. It's also the wood i have a large abundance of so if you'd like some give me a holler seriously.
-
hey hickory switch ifn your given it away, i would truly appreciate a piece.
seriously i really woould :) ;)
-
Great bow brother, you should make some meat with that one.. post pics when you do..... Hawk a/ho
-
If i do it will be my first primitive. And my first bow kill for that matter. I'll be sure to post pics maybe here in about 2 weeks when turkey season starts. ;D
-
Good looking bow! Best of luck hunting with it. :)
-
nice looking bow there. good job.
-
If you look at the unbraced pic you might note that the set is focused about 10" out on each limb. It is bending a touch more there compared to mid limb. Of course a furry browser is not likely to comment on that when you put an arrow in its vitals.

That's a fine looking bow.I hope I can do as well when I start on a hickory stave here pretty soon. Frank

Thanks everyone. This bow was a little diff. for me i left propeller twist in it and it played with my eyes one side would look good but when i'd flip it around it would look all outta wack. I have also narrowed the nocks since the pics.. Shoots a little faster i think and it calmed it down. It had just a little hand shock.
