Here is an Osage Static I started at Twin Oaks a while back. The stave had some faint reds streaks in it. I've shot it a few times and it seams to have pretty good cast. Use a number of different woods as accents. I'm planning on backing it at Marshall with a Black Snake skin my wife and I found together.
The first picture is at 25"
The second picture is at 27"
Working it to 48# and 28"
Thanks for looking.....

Wow!!!Is'nt osage fun to play with!!Nice work. That string should stay in those grooves good and proper bud.Nice color highlights too and the tiller is spot on.
-
That's a stone cold killer Bill.

Aw snap! That tiller is killer, and those hooks got looks! The handle looks awesome and really comfy too )P(

I may have some arrow shafts that will work with that weapon . . . .
And, of course, that handle is just plain sexy!
Little heavy for Sharon. Otherwise she'd be bugging you all week to take it home with her!

That's more than a peek DBar! Excellent bend as always... Unique handle also...

Oh boy I love recurves and this one...really nice hooks and pretty details you put in the tips, underlays and handle!
-
Very nice work!!!!
-
Love those tips!
-
Thanks Guys,
I didn't have enough wood on the stave to do a pistol grip so I glued some to it to make up the thickness. that's the reason for the under cut at the heel of the handle. But it looks pretty cool to me and lessens the weight just a bit.
Thanks again,
Till next time,

Wow that's a beauty. Grip is in a class of its own.

Beautiful bow !! How to get that tight bend on recurve ? with steam bending? you put underlays after bending recurves?

Gorgeous.

Thanks guys
dolgima,
Steamed in the recurve in the Osage. The walnut underlay is not doing anything for strength. So I just cut it out matching the finished recurve. I have found walnut doesn't bend well for me.
Thanks again guys

D-bar, that is simply stunning.knocked my hat in the creek.
-
Daaaaang, that is a sweety! So you do know how to build a good bow! :)
-
Thanks Stix. sorry for knocking your hat in the creek :)
Yea Pearl, still lear'n .....every day I'm alive ...buddy ;) You know it's all about what you start with. A old football coach once said (not to me) you can't make chicken salad out of chicken $h1t, you've got to have a little chicken to start with. :) :)
BTW...I've added a few things to it that I'm having trouble with, I'll show you guys at Marshall.
