Propane is transportable, and meet fire ban rules most of the time.  Unless the darned valve sticks >:D!  BTU output I'm not sure about.  On the other hand you have to wrestle the bottles with propane.

I believe propane has just over twice the BTU's, it does tend to cost more though...
