Title: 70# finished total mass weight??

Building my first heavy bow. Was wondering what the bow should come in at finished. Arvin

It depends on a few things, length, draw length, does it bend in the handle, or stiff, is it reflexed, recurved, deflexed.

70" ntn , 1/4" at nock to 2-1/2 at fades30" limbs 10" stiff handle. Arvin

Any reflex or deflex?
Is it laminated, or a selfbow?
What draw length?

2-1/2 reflex 28 draw selfbow is there any other.

I came up with 27 oz.
20.5 oz for 70" bow at 28" draw
+4 oz for 20 lbs over 50 lbs
+ 1 oz for 2" of reflex
+1.5 oz for added 2" of stiff handle over 8"

Give or take some whether you start getting set

I am at 35oz. Right now . Probably another2-3oz. in the handle to come out. May be time to go to the long string when I get the board and all put together.  Been hanging string on a scale up tell now. Thanks High Desert. Yes Steve I will be looking for the mail. Arvin

  Arvin, hunting bow around 26 to 27 oz, if you have an extra large handle you need to add accordingly. maybe 25 or 26 for a broadhead bow.
