You may have known this a long time but to me it was new.
I've been mixing knox gelatin into hot water and then stirring until dissolved, which is a pain to get all the little clumps smashed and down to liquid.
My daughter wanted to make jello cups to drink from and the youtube video had them mix jello into cold water first and then stir in hot.
I did this with knox and it is so much better this way. Just stir in cold water for half the total water you want and it will be a paste in no time, then the other half boiling hot and it is mixed in about 30 seconds.

Yeah, that's standard procedure with collagen glues.

So would this apply to all hide glues then, not just knox? It would make sense cause they are technically the same thing and gelatin too, except usually they aren't pebbled or powdered but dried in blocks.

Yes. Use cold water till the glue plumps then add it to the pot

Yeah. Says the same thing on the package.
