Thought I would finish out a hide with all the cold weather we are having. Took a hide that I had fleshed, grained and let dry and rehydrate in a fresh batch of heated brains, let soak for a couple hours wrung out and rebrained and hung outside on clothes line overnite at 5 deg, let mother nature do some stretching and contracting on my hide. Next morning thaw out and wring and start softing for about 2 hrs , bagged and froze in freezer overnite and today finish in about 2 hrs with knapping breaks while letting hide dry a little , nice warm woodstove and fan. Hide came out nice, a little disappointed in my graining , thought I had done a better job, oh well it will give it a nice tiger stripe camo for you guys old enough to know what that looks like. Bob

Very nice! I'm just starting my learning curve in this and the first few I did I don't think they turned out as soft as that one. I have learned the last hour makes or breaks it though
