So I have a 72" Huntsman longbow.  The string is gettin old so I measured it to look for a replacement only to discover... It's a 65" string.  It's the string it came with so I have no idea.  Is this normal?  I always thought 3" was the recommended amount so I should have a 69" string.  Could this also explain the bend that the slight/moderate bend the bow has in it even when unstrung?

Did you buy it new ? If so I am not sure, I would contact the ones who built it, if not someone probably put the wrong string on it somewhere down the line. 3 inches shorter N-N is the norm for a long bow. :)
