Made a knife for the first time. Don’t know for sure what kind of steel it is, got it from a big rotary cutter blade that broke at work. I annealed the steel and cut my blade shape out. Brought a scrap piece up past non magnetic and quenched it. Hit it with a hammer and it shattered, so I proceeded. 90% of the bevel is free hand filed and cleaned up with my belt sander. Acid dipped it after all is said and done, and the steel had a lot of pattern to it. Really wish I knew what kind of steel it is. Took a razor edge, time will tell if it holds. My son made one as well and he should finish it this weekend.
