Actually it could be a he to, I really didn't check. Found this little guy in the garage this morning. I had to relocate em before the wife got the garden hoe. Gee I just can't imagine why she gets so worked up about these beautiful, harmless binifical creatures. Must be a girl thing.

Yes,very nice snake. Which breed is it? I like those very much. In our area aren`t many.

Cute little thing! Not the kind to be worried about, but might be to small to help with the mice! Too small for backing or breakfast >:D!

I found one this morning myself, not a garder though. I'm guessing it's a checkered or a red aided garder? Pretty little thing whichever it is.

BJ, my wife and I camped near Evart last weekend. It has a mile long seasonal road going into the camp area. I walked it several times a day while scouting for critters. I found at least eight dead juvenile snakes no bigger than 6" long max. Garters, corn and blue racers. I have no clue why the young ones decided to come out, but they did and got ran over.
-
Kyle, that's a Ringneck.
-
I just realized the way I worded all that. I meant to say that the one BJrogg found is one of those types of garders. Ring necks are one of my favorites to catch. You can get handfuls in a hurry and not worry about getting bit.

Uwe just a garter I believe.
That a beautiful little snake Kyle looks like a fine piece of jewelry.
Pearl Drums it seems like there's a week or so every year I'll find them laying on my driveway and sometimes to my wife's horror in my house.

Especially for me because I just spewed apple chunks all over the computer when I busted out laughing.

I found the same little snake just last minth in the hills of North Carolina.

I find lots of ring neck snakes here. The other day I found a worm snake. I've never seen one except in pics so I knew what it was when I saw it. A few garder snakes have shown up lately too. The ones with the yellow stripes.

Never thought about that before. No wonder my wife hates snakes!

Here's a red checker striped garder getting his dinner a while back.A toad.I left him to his business.A couple hours later he was gone.He was actually around 30" long.

That one's a beauty Bead. Those garters love their frogs and toads.

Sorry to steal your thread BJ , but since everyone else is showing off snakes here is one I found in Sister and Sally's kennel day before yesterday, guess I saved it and it went under the shed when I turned it loose, not sure what kind it is, never really seen one colored up like this before, any ideas ?
Pretty thing all the same and very gentle. ;) :)

No problem Pappy, or anyone else. Love all the pictures. I'm not much of a snake expert can't help you identify em but that stone looks very knapable from here.

Looks like a bull, Pappy. I've also seen hognose with that pattern, but the body makes me think bull snake.
-
Thanks Scott, Will said he thought it was a hognose by the picture, just strange I have never seen one like that before , and have been on the farm for close to 60 years and seen a lot of snakes, must be pretty rare around our parts. :-\

Yes they are. I have 4 different hognose skins I've collected from different states and not a single match between em. The head would have told the final story.
-
Not sure, I don't know much about snakes - But look kinda like a rebar iron snake, some what related to jackalope, mugwumps, and yeti ;) ;)! Seriously, it does look a bit like the pattern on the rebar, laid too close while catching some rays??
