Title: Vine maple tips

I'm thinking about starting on the vine maple stave I got from DuBuios last year. I've never worked it or anything like it. How does it like to be treated and what sort of designs does it like? And does it need or like heat treating? The stave is about 72" long, about 3-4" wide and about 1" deep. I see JonW's post about how it needs sharp tools to work cleanly. I'll keep posting updates as I go.
