I had a long armed customer ask for a bow that wasn't too long. I scratched my head a little and came up with this. It's 65" ntn and pulls 60#@32". (My short little arms are only getting it out to about 30" in the full draw photo. (SH) ) I made the limbs nice and wide with short fades. I designed it with some reflex/deflex as well. I'm happy with how it turned out. It has no stack and very little handshock. Osage came through for me. The tip overlays are deer antler with some live edge on them. The stain is combo of leather dye and the finish is tru oil. the string is D97 with muskrat fur silencers. The etched norse runes have special meaning for the owner.

Great job Weylin. I really like the color of the dyed osage.
-
you got one happy customer!
-
Man that is looks like a really fantastic bow bet it shoots like a cannon! What's the weight like given the limbs are so wide? Thanks for sharing! :D
-
Looks like a war bow when you pull it back that far! Great looking bow, as usual Mr. Olive.
-
Another nice one Weylin, thanks for posting!
-
Another beauty for sure! :)
-
Great job on her Weylin, and a big atta boy for the long draw
-
Great job on a request such a long draw.
-
I'd have had to use my foot to get that long of a draw out of a bow! This is a real beauty sir, rustic, yet clean and precise. The dye job is pretty as a picture and the runes just set it off. I'd not volunteer to be the down field observer when that rocket launcher was being fired. Nope! :o (SH) ;)

That came out great. It doesn't look at all over bent pulling it to 30". Moving the fades in was a good strategy.

Great work Weylin, those profiles are nice
-
Outstanding! Beautiful bow as usual :)
-
That's another beauty! And great drawlength and drawweight for a relative short bow!
-
congrats :OK
-
Nice looking bow. I like the color of the bow. Good job
-
I don't think you've posted a bow that I haven't liked. Great job!
-
Beautiful bow!
-
Very nice bow. I generally refuse builds like that because of the liabilities
-
Thanks a lot, everyone. It's always great to get your feedback on my bows.
Seiddy, I'm assuming your asking about the mass. It definitely feels a little heavier in the hand than a normal bow of that length. I was pleasantly surprised that there was very little handshock and good arrow speed from the bow considering the weight in hand. I guess I put the mass in the right places. ;D
Marc, I hear you on that. I was reluctant to take this on and it was definitely more stressful to build. I broke one stave in the process and if this one didn't work out I would have given him his deposit back. In the future I will be more discerning, I think. That being said, I am please with the way this one turned out so I guess it was a success despite my better judgement. Initially the customer wanted a Molle but I talked him out of that for a lower stress design.
