Are there rules for the Christmas trade. Can we make anything hunting, fishing, or primitive related?related?

I'm planning to do some trapping this winter. So I'm sure there will be a hide or two thrown in the box. Would anyone object to hides that are in a raw state? Not tanned but fleshed and dried, ready to tan? High chance of there being raccon, opossum, muskrat and beaver. Maybe coyote or fox if they cooperate. I'll try to get some tanned, but just incase of a lack of time to soften them.

No rules Eric, whatever you want to make is fine. I like to investigate a bit and try to learn my recipients hobby's.

In the past we said the gift had to be made by the sender or raw materials but Like Pearlie I like to see what would be the most appropriate for your recipient. After all the spirit of Christmas is giving, not receiving.

Trapper,
There's almost always stragglers and procrastinators, 10% who didn't get the word, and/or newbies that might want to jump in.

Like that signature quote - just can't remember where it's from.  Similar to an old Irish toast I know.

It's a Turnpike Troubadours song. Love that band. Just got back from Challis Idaho 3 day music fest. They were one of the headliners

I know we havmt drawn names yet. But I just made a big batch of hot sauce. About 16 pints of both sweet habanero and a ghost pepper sauce. If they turn out well, I want to see if the guy I get would use it. I tasted the habanero sauce. It's very hot with a sweet, mild garlic flavor. No idea on the ghost yet. It's still cooking.

So do you all like spicy food?

I just tried some ghost sauce on a salmon patty. Good flavor and doesn't take much at all to make it very spicy.

Come on OO, it tastes delicious.

Heck, I make "No Alarm" chili -C-!  Can't do that spicy stuff, in any cooking genre - "flavor, not fire!" Eating is supposed to be fun, not pain!

Yeah, I'm not much on the ridiculous hot stuff. My participation in an ill-advised pepper-eating contest 20 years ago removed any hint of a desire to eat anything much hotter than jalapeņos.

Does that mean you still have that non vegan dried pepper treats I sent you last Christmas trade Looper? It wasn't really wicked hot, but I like a little bite.
