Title: Spruce-loving fungi

Went for a walk with the dog this morning in a beautiful spruce forest. This is a good place to look for Porcini mushrooms (Boletus edulis) and as luck would have it I found a few. Unfortunately, the bugs had gotten to most of them first as is often the case with these mushrooms. You can see what I mean from one of the pics below.

I also came across an Amanita sp. in slightly greater numbers. Definitely don't want to eat any of those!

Nice find.
I'm not too picky when it comes to porcini
i'd dry it it to let the small worms come out and eat it anyway later

I hear ya. One of my favorite things to do with porcini is a classic porcini risotto.  -C-
