Title: My bow from Paul Semp
Post by: osage outlaw on June 01, 2017, 10:12:30 pm
Paul and myself did a 1 on 1 bow swap at marshall this year.  Paul doesn't post many of his bows on here.  I wish he would because he sure knows how to make a nice bow.  This one is a slight D/R elm bow with a super cool birch bark handle wrap.  I love the way it looks and feels.  The first thing I noticed about the bow was an osage plug in a knot hole on the belly.  The amount of detail he put into this bow is amazing.

At Marshall this year I watched Paul spend the better part of 2 days helping a young boy and a young adult with disabilities complete their first bows.  He worked patiently with them until they were able to launch their first arrows.  The mother of one of the young boy was brought to tears on more than one occasion because of what Paul was doing for her son.  I also watched Paul give a custom knife and a bow to two of the club members who help put on the Marshall gathering.  I am honored to call Paul my friend and have one of his bows in my collection.

Its a great bow and really throws an arrow. Pauly builds a dang good bow. I had the privelage of watching both of them build their bows via pictures. I told them they were on a level playing field with this swap. Boy was I right, both bows are gorgeous and shoot great.

I had the opportunity not only to meet Paul in Marshall, but I also got the chance to see this bow up close.  Paul, You do excellent work, both building bows, and selflessly helping others.  :OK

I heard about that trade.  That is a fine looking bow and better yet, it was signed by it's maker.

Thanks guys for the nice compliments. Hey Clint how come you can draw that bow all the way in a picture but not on the Range???

Truth be told it ended up a good five pounds lighter than I wanted it to be. That's just the way it goes sometimes. Hope it's okay with you Clint.

thank you also for the compliments on helping the kids  but honestly it's not needed. I try to pay it forward anyway I can especially for a kid that wants to learn something. I spend too much time by myself making stuff that when I go to these shoots I would much rather help someone that has no help otherwise

Love the profile of that bow, Paul.
And Clint you sure hit the nail on the head about Paul being a nice guy. it was real pleasure meeting him this year and putting a face with the guy that just gifted me with a bow out of the blue.

Greats a cool bow you got Clint! But the story is of Paul helping the younger generation. Now that's awesome.
