Bryce and I were talking last fall about building custom straps for our Hawken muzzleloaders and that led to talking about possible bags. Went he first got injured I sent him a box of "stuff" to help keep him busy and hopefully make him feel better. I had shot a red fox with my recurve a few years back and used the hide for various projects, all I had left was her mask so I stuffed it in the box for him to create something with. Well, long story short a few weeks prior to Marshall I got a package in the mail. This is what I found. Its absolutely amazing. Several of my friends at Marshall seen it in person. The guy is very, very talented and has a creative mind. There are so many small details all over this bag. I LOVE IT BUDDY!

That bag, as good as that photo looks, is even more impressive in person. Thanks for sharing it with us at Marshall. Definitely a work of art there. I am sure your box of stuff "kept him busy."

Mostly beads, but I see a few quills on it as well. Its full of small, hidden nuances. The fox eyes are abalone as well as the flap tie-off. The knife on the side is my favorite touch. I show anybody that stops over the house, like a kid with a Christmas present he always wanted. Im hoping I can talk him into making me a strap for my Hawken that somewhat matches.

From doing previous beadwork and the like in the past I know it takes patience to make.Attention to details.Pieces like that take time looking at to realize everything done on it like said.
I wear one at bow shoots.not as extravegant as Bryces' project but keep valuables in there.Even wear mine hunting.Keep my grunt and doe bleat call in there.

I got a chance to see this in person as well, it is a stunner. Excellent work Bryce, amazing attention to detail.

It's such an eye-catching bag. Not because it's gaudy in any respect, but because it's elegant in its own way.
-
That is just OUTSTANDING workmanship.
-
Oh wow! That's amazing!
-
Once again I missed something really cool at Marshall!
But im glad you posted it hear Pearl. That sure is one beautiful piece of artwork Bryce! Very well done Sir!

Say Pearl Drums, have you had a chance to shoot those ball-ets that I sent ya a while back? That bag is just too pretty for hauling stuff as mundane as shooting gear.
You're going to have to use it only on formal and fancy hunts.. ;)

Paul I haven't shot my gun at all. My friend Grant is a very knowledgeable Hawken man and has a place to shoot. We plan to get together soon and shoot for afternoon. I'm excited to see how they fly.
-
Ahhhhhh.....you gotta get a little petina and bacon fat and dirt worn onto it.A little gun powder black around the edges. It'll work great.
I was into tanning and making fur hats many years ago of all kinds.Have the Mystic Warriors of the Plains book for reference and all.Made a coyote full length hat once down the back stealth thing to wear at rendezvous.Looked grand.
Then I went to making supper on the fire in my lodge.I bent over at the fire to turn the meat and whoooops the the coyote body hide slipped off my back across the fire.....lol.Shortened his tail some!!!!I should of had a cord around my waist tied to the body centering it on my back.Anyway I was wearing it at an unappropriate time.....lol.No buffalo herds to sneak up on my excuse was.Point being though these things are made to use.Brush does play hell on beadwork though.

Chris when you opened the box I bet you looked like a bantam rooster with his chest out standing all proud.
That's one heck of a nice bag Bryce.
