Being on the road frequently and for months at a time, A camper ahell on your truck bed to sleep and live in is nice. Nut headroom is also nice. So i designed a mod tjat gives me head room, and keeps the windows of the shell in place to be seen out of while driving.
I employed my son on this project because I got tired if his " I cant " attitude. So I gave him the tape measure, the pen, the saw, and the screw gun. He did all the measuring and math. Also he made the entire foam mockup. He even used the saber saw to make a cut just to show him he was capable, and its not hard. Here is a series of images of the build.

That's all the pics i have for now. But it sleeps great and I now have head room. I will be doing more work on it as time passes, spendimg time to get a better fit and finish, caulking, paint, making the over cab bed slide out to extend to 7ft long and adding an ac unit, kitjen area and fold down shelves that also serve as tables and window shades.
I have named it, the Dodge Ma Haul

Saw this palace in person. I might have to visit the home store soon......

Good job getting the youngster involved Sleek. It looks like it should work out great for you.

Love the name. And your boys doing a great job! That should be more comfortable. Cheers- brendan

Nothing a kid loves more at that age than working on a project with his Dad. My son's not quite old enough yet, but I'm looking forward to it. :)
-
The lad has a start on his own business! Looks very functional and comfortable, too.

I had meet or even seen a picture of Sleek but I instantly knew that had to of been him that just drove past my camper in the dodge-ma-haul. Way to get your son involved, I'm sure he'll be a big help on your house projects to.
