Had a great time working on the spirit station this year with Derick, Annette, Steven and Angie. We moved the time from Sat to Friday because the events were switched back to normal. So next year it will be on Friday also. The rain made painting troublesome but we were able to refresh the horse and we added a rock formation of sorts for the items sitting around the site. Photos of Steve and Angie to coming soon!...real cute

I finely caught my breath and got up to see it yesterday and take a few pictures, prefect is all I can say. you all done a fine job in refreshing things and it is much appreciated. Miss Joanie and I will go visit it together as soon as I can her back down to the cabin. She doesn't get to involved with my primitive stuff but loves the sprit station for sure. I sent her a picture and all she could say was WOW BEAUTIFUL !!! Thank yall.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures you have, John. Angie and I really enjoyed that part of the event this year, it's in my top things to do now, for sure. Looking forward to bringing some pigments next year! I'll play around with white from shells.

Thanks for posting John!! Not as eventful as past years, but I think it looks good and I was totally stoked to be a part of this again this year, making it year number 5 for us. This is by far one of my favorite parts of the weekend.OOOGA BOOGA dpg

Upstatenybowyer, the Spirit Station is an outcrop of rocks across the creek from the camping area that folks have added "cave drawings" and other spiritual things. It is a very spiritual place. I was there last year with Joe York and Outback Bob while Joe blessed it with smoke from his peace pipe.

Good job folks
Thanks for sharing some pics with us

A few more pictures, very well done folks. I thought we years ago I might get some flack from some on calling it the Sprit station, I will just say it is to each what ever they make of it and to me a very special place to go by myself to think and ponder things. Thanks again for adding some more special memories of yall and the place. :)

I'm with you on your point of view, Pappy. That spot has a significance to me that is personal. It represents something that I keep for myself.
Also, I see that spot as representing the core values of self sufficiency, creativity, good will and the "human spirit". To me that's what the hand print represents. Noble things that the modern world too often seems to be leaving behind. A special spot.

Thanks Pat. I love the idea of working within nature to create places of power like that. Right now I'm working on building a "house" for my 2 kids. The entrance is between two huge Beech trees with walls and cathedral ceilings made of long saplings tied together with bark and smaller saplings. :)

I like it is not specific in its meaning and allows the visitor to envision their own experience.
-
I think it's a perfect name. :)
