It's a, It's a, mutant - yeah, that's the word :D. Splicing two different types of wood never had crossed my mind either. That looks good man, and I'd say your'e an old salt at this game going by the obove posts ;D ;D. Oh, and the bow :).

Welcome to PA, Iron Leg. Looks like you are gonna fit in nicely around these parts. Very nice bow. I'd bet there is a story, or two, about this bow. Pat
-

Wicked bow :) :)

Aha! a hybrid bow. Very nice and bookmarked for March Self Bow of the Month, too.
Takes me back to 2001 when I posted one of my first bows: Water Birch/Hawthorn
I could the forum laughing and laughing. But it is still one of my favorite bows. :P

Well thats something ya don't see everyday. Must be a story behind it???
Very nice.
-
Good tiller and design, also very pleasing effect with the two woods. Were you putting two broken bows to good use, working with what you had, or just wanted the unique look? nicely done and welcome abord. Kenneth

Tiller looks great!! Hope you don't get cold standing in all that snow

Nothing to say against your bow! Nice work done!

OK The the rest of the story...The blank was given to me by my good friend Gary Davis. Went to the Kalamazoo Expo to help him do sinew back demos.
When I spotted the blank I asked him "What's with this" He said it was going to me or Pappy to see if it could be made into a bow. My reply was something like I am here & Pappy is in Tenn. THANKS.. There was much discussion at the Expo by diffrent Boyer's as to how good of a bow could be made with 2 diffrent woods for limbs. Well I am here to tell ya. It works just fine. Is it difficult to tiller ? Not difficult but diffrent for sure. I can not weight to try this again with some other combos
of wood. WHY ? Because of the challenge & it is fun. To me that is what making wooden bows is all about
-
That ant exactly what Gary said you said. >:D but I guess close enough. He sent me an
Oasge/B.L. Hope it turns out as good as that one. :) very well done.

Davy,
I guess with the coat and hat you were trying to confuse me. I remember you from the Tennessee Classic because Pappy talks about you all the time. Just because I don't get to say much I really do know what is going on!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your Bow looks like to me, since I see a lot of Bows, a bow with a lot of character.......It is really beautiful especially the grip and the tips. I really like the snow in the background. Well done...Keep up the good work. Hope we see you in May........ :)

How is the balance of the bow. I would have put the osage on the bottom because it is a heavier wood. I guess that shows how much I know! ;D Pat
-
Gary called me yesterday and said Sara already had some special names for the
half breads .I need to get started on mine ,just so much going on getting ready
for the classic.I may save it and work on it there. How bot giving us a little longer
full draw picture,I know your draw is about like mine so I really have to stretch out
or take one on the tiller tree. :)

That's a best-of-both-worlds scenario bow there. :) I remember seeing Chris Tindall (BowKinn) post a yewsage hybrid years ago, this is the only other one that I've ever seen. Mighty fine looking weapon, and great detail work. Looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
-
Hillbilly I have been trying to get him to post some of his work on here for a while, maybe he will come back to the classic this year.Him and his buddy Hole in the limb Chuck came year before.
I would love for you guys to meet them,He is a yankee ,but a class act. ;) ;D
