Post by: Lee Lobbestael on January 12, 2017, 02:43:48 pm
Does anyone know what kind of maple menards carries? I bought dine from their unfinished trim boards sectionot and started a board bow with it. Probably should have checked first@

You can try pressing a thumb nail in it, but the hard maple will be heavier than soft maple and sometimes it does get mixed in with the good stuff

Weight is a good indicator, but even within the same species, density can differ. Heck, even within the same tree.
