Post by: feathersnwood on January 09, 2017, 12:22:55 pm
Hey just had a friend give me some snake skins they are really dry he said I could put some mineral oil on them and that would rejuvenate them was just wondering if that was true?
Thanks

Don't know for sure yet don't think I have quite enough for the bow my boy is making but that is what I intended them for .

For backing a bow leave em dry.  The glue will rehydrate them enough to form to the bow when you stick em down.  Josh

You will probably want to soak them in water prior to glueing them. If you intend to use them as bow backing, nothing is needed until then.

I got some really old dry skins last year.  I soaked them in water and tacked them down to dry like fresh skins.
