I am interested in making an over the shoulder quiver and bow case. Does anyone know where I might purchase tanned leather or fur for this project? Thanks!

You could try the trading post on here. Somebody might have something that would work for you. It's trading only.

If you don't find anything on our Trading Post try "Crazy Crow" or "Moscow Hide and Fur", both are sponsors of PA.

Probably not thick enough for quivers, but Pearl gave me some leather from a couch someone had tossed on the side of the road. He would have given it all to me but I just took a couple 3'x3' pieces. I wish I'd have taken it all I used a lot of it already. The outside was shinny smooth but inside was split hide the way I like it.

If you stop by a taxidermy shop, you may be able to get the cut offs from the left over skins from the shoulder mounts.

i'd also like to know of cheap sources of leather to do random stuff such as making finger tabs? and.. for friction applications - for putting them on tepeliks. and maybe bow handles. rawhide for backing bows..

I have scraps of different leathers, some with fur but most garment and upholstery leather I'd be willing to trade.

When I shut my business down (tannery) I had a number of raw bear hides (untanned) that customers didn't pick up. If you want to try to tan or use as is I will send you a piece. You can have it.
