Ok folks, just looking for a little input. Bubby messaged me the other day asking if I had a website or Facebook for the game calls I make, and well I don't. I've been meaning to for a long while now, it's just not real high on the priority list. So I'm wondering if it should be. How many of you guys on social media, and what's the most common? Facebook I'm guessing, but what about instagram, twitter, etc...
I would appreciate some thoughts. Thanks!

Same here BJ! I would rather look at bows and arrows than read about everybody's drama.

I'm getting to be an old timer and I drew the line a while ago.
But my younger friends and family can't do without these
interweb connections. Most swear by the business results
they get. You should know what twitter did for one guy.?

We have a web site for our business went through a site to build your own . Good thing wife is good with computers cause I wouldn't be able to get it done and cost are not out of site but still costs . We are checking into Facebook think that might be good with our website and is free from what I know which isn't much 😀.

Yep, Facebook.

I have a WordPress blog that I made myself. It's easy. You can sell stuff there but you cant be like a Amazon affiliate. Then you can link it to face book. I don't use it much anymore. Just Google one legged cowboy. I dont b sell anything there, I was trying to post pics and a story of where I was out west boondocking for my father and mother. Now I have lost interest.

I wasn't on facebook till about a year ago, lot's of PA forum members on it and there are lots of trad and primitive archery sites on there including buy and sell. Pappy may not be on it but twin oaks has a page and lots of hunting sites Dave. Lot's of handmade items for sell

And I just ignore the drama😉

Bubby I probably would enjoy being on face book but truthfully I spend more time on this site than I should some days lol.

If this is a business for you then you'd clearly do well to create an account. Don't know if you understand how FB works but when you "friend" someone you can simply "unfollow" them...meaning they will see what you post but you don't have to see what they post, unless it is folks you specifically want to.
Creating an account for business purposes could simply be managed a little differently.

Instagram and a blog (word press, blogger, etc) have been very helpful and enlightening for me. And they're where I go to learn stuff, too, by way of search hashtags. I've also made a lot of good friends on instagram. Always found Facebook too cumbersome to use and search, personally.

Facebook has the potential to get you a lot of looks. You can make a page that you can sell from, or just a fan page where people can order from you. It is at least worth a shot.

I'm a primitive IT guy.
I manage a data center and build websites as a side business, but don't have facebook or instagram or any of that. : )
If you're looking to sell your game calls the best route is to set up an etsy shop and advertise them on reddit. It's really easy, there's no Facebook drama involved, and it takes about 20 minutes to configure.
I'm happy to help out.

It's worth noting that there's a difference between a personal account and a (business) page. Pages have followers, you'll only get messages from followers if they post it to your page. You won't get their posts and so there shouldn't be much drama.
As for a website. Think about if and how it could benefit you, advertising/orders/sales etc. Then think about if it would be worth it, it'll most likely cost you something to set it up and running cost. Even if you can get it for free they'll be the time it'll take.

 +3. I know a lot of business people show their Facebook link online, they post all positive comments, negative comments are deleted by the owner. Having said that, bull shit is bull shit.

Thanks fellas. The game calls are at this point just a hobby, or I guess you could call it a side job.
The info I was hoping to gain is, what kind of presence on social media there is of what would be my target market. AKA, you guys, and other hunters. I am on Facebook already, have been for years. Doesn't seem like the crowd I would be interested in maintaining a social media site for, but I could pick and choose my followers.
Just weighing out whether or not it's worth it. I think I may start out with one social media outlet and see how it goes before I jump into multiple ones.
Anyway, thanks for the input!
