Title: Muzzleloader Forum
Post by: Marc St Louis on December 05, 2016, 07:04:58 pm
Mods and admins have been talking about setting up a forum for muzzleloaders.  I'm not into them myself but many are.  Give us your vote and your thoughts.  Just to let you know I personally don't care one way or the other

I'm not into them but a dedicated page sounds good to me.

As a selfbow and flintlock rifle builder I find they are equally interesting.

When I posted my squirrel rifle build in the Campfire section I had a huge following and inspired a few folks to give it a try.

Yeah I'd love to have a muzzy forum.

I've just gotten into it this year but I've been working on powder horns and possibles bags and there could be a lot to post.

I will probably never build one but it interests me. I enjoyed Eric's build-a-long.

I do both archery and muzzleloaders so it seems like a good idea to me.

I think its a fine idea considering the direction the magazine is heading. And for the guys that don't do it now, several will after seeing and reading more about it on here. And, its legal to ship and swap front stuffers/parts unlike smokeless guns.

Yep, I'd like to see it, we've got some smoke pole shooters and likely will attract more. I started with lemonwood long bows as a young un then graduated to laminated recurves. Picked up black powder shooting in the '80s and found osage bows and hickory bows at a rendezvous. Wow, what a great idea. Make your own. Super, I'm all in. And that's the rest of the story.

Not much opposition so I guess I will go ahead and create a new board

It hasn't been mentioned but I think we should stick to sidelock M/L, no inlines, scopes or sabot bullets.

That does'nt sound too bad really and can  definitely see the attraction.I've shot one every year since 1980 but since making bows hav'nt.Always a patched round ball though to stay with tradition.

I don't think we are the inline crowd??  But let promote ethical kills if it takes glass or a sabot I'm OK with it as long as you still feed it from the muzzle lol  I sold my inlines they were not any more accurate than my hawken hated the look feel hype ,,,,side locks are where it's at for me,,,been using them 40 years! Got my first deer with a Zouave  replica thanks Jeff w
