Hey everyone, I'm writing a short article for the World of Wood magazine, and I talk a little about considering the grain around dead knots, on bows obviously, as well as snakey grain. I didn't want to just steal from google/images and I know you guys have better examples than I do, so I'm asking if anyone would be willing to put up a couple pictures to use. Of course I'll give picture credits. Thanks guys!
P.S. Even if I wasn't writing this article, I love these kinds of pics.

Here's a couple. Same bow on all 3. The hole was a punky knot on one limb. The "swirl" is the other limb. Don't know if it's what you need, but pretty clear pictures of the grain around the knot. The picture flipped somehow, but if you flip it back 180 degrees....

You are welcome to use any of mine. I made this bow for a friend and he killed a small buck with it.

This bow had a knot hole caused by a bullet. I found it lodged in the back of the knot.

Both of my trade bows from this year had knot holes in them

Very nice pictures and beautiful bow's clint.

Google "HoleinthebowChuck". Chuck makes some very cool and very effective holey bows. Pappy may have a few pics of guys from Twin Oaks Bowhunters.
