Hello all, Since I saw all the beautyful takedown in the past here in PA I thought I`ll give it a try. Maybe I can combine 2 hobbies: can drive with my 1200 Custom to 3D- course.
Now I want to show you my new BL- takedown, it`s my 3rd attempt. The both before I came in underweight
Had a mistake at recurve bending, so it splintered ~ 2 mm from backside. I remember some posts from Simon and decide to glue also a buffolo horn in the recurves for stiffness. Unfortunately the upper recurve opened ~1,5cm probably during a dryheat session for stringalignement and I did`nt check this before I glued the horn in. how ever, till now she wings about 100 arrows very smooth. Than I gave fuming a try, have only ammoniac with 10%, but like Simon says: Temperature helps, it`s been about 30°C (~86°F) outside. You can see the different colour below after only 20 hours.
Measurements: TtT 165 cm (~ 65“), width at fade 42 mm, 48# @ 26“
Please tell me your thoughts, I really appreciate it.
