This is my first Yew stave which I've just started. Had to cut off the end to get rid of a bad spot so thought I would fume it to see what it would look like. This is a 5 day fume. What do you all think leave natural or fume the stave?

Here's the one I did. It took 4 days I think. I heated the ammonium with a coffee warmer. I like it, it looks old. Not a great shot but. Ones with a flash and one isn't.

I like 'em natural. But that's just me.

natural is nice....but that fuming!!! >:D

I vote for natural. The fumed looks like walnut with sapwood.

You can't beat the natural beauty of yew! Cheers- Brendan

Maybe you could selectively fume parts of it like Simson did...
