When I made my 1st bow my ash "Survivor " bow I saved the belly split from the stave thinking some day I might make a bow for one of my grandkids. Well someday is here. 49" n-n don't know lbs but light enough for my almost 5 year old grandson.put red fox on arrow shelf and red fox string silencers. I really like that its belly split from my 1st bow, now grandpa and grandson 1st bow from the same stave 😊

As you can see I'm still out standing in my field. Navy beans are getting bigger.
-
Nice tiller, them beans are looking healthy!
-
Thanks Knotty. They got a nice rain yesterday they are at the stage that they will grow fast now
-
Cool beans man😜pun intended bow looks great and i like the connection between the bows
-
Good job BJ !
-
Thanks bubby I like connection too and I really like the bow too it has some Caricature. Thanks Buckeye
-
That's awesome man...Now where's the kid!!
-
Yeah, where's the kid??!! No kid pics ... it didn't happen. ;)
Congrats, bj!!!
Bow I made for our 5-yr-old grandboy is 9@15. He can pull it without undue effort.
-
Nice bow BJ, you a lefty? Hope to see your grandson along with you at the shoots, he will enjoy himself and should be proud of the bow his gramps made him.
-
Nice combo and connection of bows bjrogg.Good looking field of clean beans too.
-
Thanks guys no I'm not a lefty wasn't really sure which way to go with this one he's kinda ambidextrous but he seems to always want to hold bow left handed so I made this one a lefty. I took him to Marshall he had a blast but we need to do a lot of practice before next year. I made bow for half my grandkids now 2 more to go. Got one for my favorite granddaughter roughed out today her birthday party is Saturday not sure it'll be done yet. I did shoot it left handed it wasn't t really that hard. I'll get some pictures of them when I give them em

Nice job bj. A special bow for sure.
-
That's a special little bow. Great job on it.
-
Thanks PNewton, Thanks Osage, after the parade today we did some practicing with the new bow. I also did a little more work on bow. I took a few pictures but I'll have to get by wi-fi to edit them to post maybe tomorrow night.

Awesome fields and awesome bow. So nice that you are sharing archery with your grandson, bjrogg. Jawge
-
Good on you Grandpa!
-
Thanks Jawge, Thanks SlimBob, it's all been a lot of fun very rewarding. My grandson is very excited about the bow and it's fun practicing with him.
-
Thats an awesome bow! My grandson is the same age and I built him a 40" red oak selfbow that he loves to shoot. Nothing better than shooting with your grandson. All the best. Will B.
-
I served the string yesterday and put a turkey shoulder feather on top limb so it would be easier for him to know which end of bow goes up. I think it looks cool to. Here some pictures
-
That turkey feather is a great addition to the bow. Your grandson will get alot of fun out of that bow. Great job!
-
That's a mighty cute little bean shooter! That little fart outa get a lot of mileage out of that bow, seems he has some limb length to grow into. He's gonna wear out a lot of shoe leather walking back and forth picking arrows outa the target.
Good work, boss!
-
Thanks Will B He likes the feather too. Thanks JW their my little braves now just have to make sure they don't shoot each other. Yes looking at Charlie and his bow I could have made limbs a bit shorter but I know he'll grow faster than the bow. I think the littlest one Clifford is allergic to shoe's and socks even in the winter you can't keep them on him, you have to make sure he can't open his car widow or he throws them out.

That's a cutie. Love little bows.
