Finally got a couple of bows for the man who let me cut osage on his property 2 years ago.
Found him on Craigslist in the free firewood section. Had an osage tree down and I got a trailer full plus a nice honeysuckle stave.
Both in the upper 30's at 28.
Deer rawhide grip stitched with the same.
Braided belt leather with beaver tail on other.
Not perfect but fun anyways.
Hope ya like.

tips on D bow.
Ok, now I'm done.
-
Too bad you couldn't find some with a little character. ;) Good to give back.
-
Those both look sweet! I'd be happy with those! We're they in the same tree? Cheers- brendan
-
that one is really curvey
nice job
-
Nice free fire wood find, nice sticks love the D bow nice charecter
-
That's great! Got to be a nice treat for him
-
Thanks fellas,
Yep, same tree. I did end up with about 1/2 of the load as actual firewood but I aint complaining.
Tree had bent some and split at the base and the core of the tree was exposed; this stave is what was partially split free but too short(for me at least-49") to really make him a bow unless I sinew it, which I still may.
-
They both look gorgeous!
Nice job 😊
-
Niice, are they both amur honeysuckle? How wide is the D bow at the handle? Asymmetric, cool
-
real nice bows, lotsa character. great bend on both
-
Nice job on your bows.Always fun to work on osage seems like even with all the character you got in those two bows.
Nice gesture also. He'll definitely remember you in the future.Around here I've given away some to the locals as gifts too.Kinda trying to be an ambassador of primitive bow making anyway too.
-
Nice work on those bows.
-
Great work on those bows!
-
Nice job on those curly sticks.
-
Yeah Jon, I'll try something a little more squiggly next ;)
Loon, both osage but I do have a nice honeysuckle stave still. Poor thing was in the way of cutting the downed tree.
D bow is 1.5" at widest in handle. Both 61" n-n.
Hey Stix, thanks man. I hope he likes them a lot. He has some nice osage around there and seems like a good guy.
Thanks Clint.

And thank you Ty and Bob.
-
Wow. Just wow. You have made some beautiful bows there doobster. Id like to do a bow trade with you someday after seeing these guys!
-
Thanks Kevin,
I'd be honored to ever do a bow trade with you bro.
I still have a skull that you might want someday too but right now the bugs are doing a job on it ;)
-
Well, we can make it a deal, after I upgrade my living situation. And as for the skull, yes I would love it! Just as soon as the bugs are done that is :D
If its out in the sun, is there a way the horns could be covered to keep them from drying out and flaking?
-
Good job
