Just finished up my 60" sinew backed Yew with flipped tips, rawhide over the sinew and Cottonmouth skins over the rawhide. Kingwood tip overlays. She is pulling 70# at my 28" draw and is stable as any bow I have ever shot. The Yew was very light colored so I dyed the edges black and faded it to the center with brown. The handle is jute with a Massey finish. I finished it with Truiol and then hit it with poly to nock off the shine. Thanks for looking and any criticism is welcome.(http://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv24/licenseddadad/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-07/IMG_20160705_155915_zps0j72garl.jpg) (http://s666.photobucket.com/user/licenseddadad/media/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-07/IMG_20160705_155915_zps0j72garl.jpg.html)

I used knox hide glue and whitetail leg sinew and TB3 to glue the rawhide and skins on.

Sweet bow Bob. I like the looks of those skins. Hurts my shoulders just thinking about drawing that one back. Good job on the tiller also.
-
That's a gorgeous bow! I hope you post it in the B.O.M contest. Why did you put rawhide over the sinew? That's not criticism, just curious :)
-
Thanks Osage Outlaw and HunterBob. No reason other than to give the skins a nice smooth backing to glue on and to protect the soft sapwood out towards the tips.
