Title: Sinew patch long repair question?

At the classic this spring a pin knot on my Osage bow popped and started to lift a little. I have a piece of back sinew and am ready to hit the pin knot with some super glue. My question is, should I sand the finish off the area that I plan to patch. I'm supposing the answer is yes, but just making sure. It is sealed with linseed or something similar. I'm trying to start this soon. I plan to strip the sinew and use gelatin for the hide glue. Hope everyone is having a gooder! Hanks for the info. dpg

Derik, I would get as much of the finish off so the glue adheres to the wood as good as it can.

Thanks Pat! Use some 220 then reseal when the sinew dries?
