Getting around to posting some pics from last weekend. Mullet and I head up to see Chris in SC. Had a great experience. I'd never been bow fishing before and it was an absolute blast. Learned to clean Gar. Got to see cat fish jugging and the woods up there are really great. It was a quick trip but very good fun. Thank again, Eddie & Chris!

Very cool Steve, that is something I have been wanting to try for a while now. Your head heal up ok after the Classic?
-
That looks like a lot of fun.

Honestly Aaron, I don't think my head will ever be fully right! ;D So funny, I had a little cut about the size of my pinky nail that was gone in a week. Some people said that I'd been run over. Tall tales. It was very minor. :)
I'm gonna start playing with bow fishing now that I got a taste of it. I really liked it. We've got Nile Perch, Bowfin, Gar, Mullet, Sting Rays and some others to chase this far south. In both fresh & salt water. Gotta keep my eye out for gators, though!

Yea, I just happened to be walking by and watched it happen. I give you a 9 on the dismount, but a 2 on sticking the landing!
;D ;D. I still have a picture of the wound

That's awesome. ;D

Thanks for the pics Steve. I wish I could have made it down to see you guys. Maybe next time.

Yea, it was a lot of fun but not long enough. Pat, picked up another 1/4 acre of land and found about eight old graves back in the bushes. I hope I didn't buy into a Stephen King novel.

That is great fun. I got back into it this year.
Mostly carp so far. We got plenty gar down near the bay.
Night shootin. Those gar make great quivers :)
I always see big snapin turtles. I may jug a few of them this summer.

Looks like fun, we use to do it a lot and it is a blast, not sure why we don't do it much anymore. :-\

That really does look like a lot of fun I gotta try that some time

Looks like y'all had a good day. Bowfishing is a blast. It is the other end of the spectrum from deer hunting. Rather than being silent and alone, it is a social event and you get to share in the enjoyment of your buddies hits and misses. We go as often as we can in the summer months. Glad y'all had fun.

Howard,
Never heard any stories around the campfire about that Mr. Rhodes,,,,,sure looks like fun guys...........

Well as the great Howard hill would say... lol something like fish like being shot with a long bow with a little setback. Lol
-
Ha! The fish may not care, but "a very long bow with just a little bit of string follow" is what all us Howards from Alabama are absolutely sold on. ;D
-
Thanks for sharing, Howard. Good picture.

And I thought I had to wait until the next Classic to here that line. :)

Must be a Southern saying.;-)

Bill, you can't hear it enough. Howard Hill did say that - I didn't invent it ;D I have just come to agree with him. I know that I am dangerously approaching a breach of etiquette in hijacking here, and for that I apologize, but doggone it, for all the short bow people out there who have never given it a whirl, whittle you out a bow long enough that you can draw that sucker back without a care of overdrawing it, and tiller it out so that it has just the least amount of string follow to it, and see if you don't shoot a little straighter. Okay, I got that out of my system - for now. It is a Southern thing Eddie. Ole Howard and Byron .... Alabama boys, both of them.

And, who needs Neil Young. >:D.
