I started this bow at Moontree and finished it up at the Classic. It was a tiny sliver of osage that was in the corner of my shop for a few years. I almost threw it in the burn pile a few times because it was so small but I would see the bow hiding inside of it and put it back in the corner. It's 51" nock to nock and somewhere in the low 40's at my full draw. The skin was a gift from Greg Sulfridge at Moontree this spring. Greg is about the most generous person you will ever meet. He wasn't sure what kind of snake it was. I'm guessing some sort of a corn snake. It's one of the coolest skins I have ever put on a bow. The tip overlays are sheep horn. It's been a while since I've made a short bendy bow like this. I enjoy making and shooting them.

Both stunners Clint..that short bendy reminds me of the bendy you did the buildalong for.
-
I thought this was in the same post as the coral snake bow.....my bad. That coral snake bow looks like it could slither away if ya dont keep your eye on it. ;)
-
Very cool Clint, those are beautiful skins
-

If I was going to make a bendy handle that one could stay with me.Sweet bend.Nice job.the color of that snake goes very well with osage.
-
She turned out nice, Clint. And yes, Greg is "top shelf".
-
That's nice, Cint! Think I'm liking bendy's more 'n' more.
-
thats a beauty of a stik.
-
That's a really fine bow, Clint. Those skins are beautiful. Really like that color combination. Nice!
-
man i really like that one. The skins and colors are great!
-
Amazing bow--for sure! Question: that is a really neat tip/ nock. I'm new still to bow making and have been sticking to pyramid flat bows from boards. That nock would be great, I think, for thinner tips. What did you make it out of? Any tips for how to make 'em? Looks like there could be a risk of the string coming off--how would I prevent that? Thanks in advance!
-
Now that's a sweet looking bendy. I like it.
-
Thanks guys.
hurlbri1, I used big horn sheep horn for the tip overlays. I've never had a string come off before. They stay in the grooves. I put an angle on the limb with a belt sander and then glue on the horn. You have to make sure to get flat matching surfaces between the wood and the horn. I use rasps and files to shape them.
-
I agree with you on that skin Clint that is sharp looking. Turned out great.
-
Very nice short bendy Clint, you coaxed a sweet little bow out of that sliver of osage.
-
Oh man. I haven't look on this section of the forum in a long time. Man that thing turned out killer Clint! Sexy as hell.
You guys and your burning osage! Oh so many things I've made from osage people wanted to burn...
-
Wow, that is a looker Clint. Nice job man!
-
Nice bow Clint, you saved that piece and look what it became. Great job!
-
Man I'm glad I went to the bom voting page. You've been cranking em out and I missed em all. They all look awesome bud. 8) something about that profile on this one does it for me though. Excellent work.
-
Nice one Clint. You seem to have been busting em out lately. Love the bend on this shorty.
-
Good job holding that profile on such a short bow. Nice looker also!
-
Thanks guys.
Badger, this little stick of osage seemed very stiff when I started bending it.
