Started with a chunk of firewood and a chainsaw and brought a 12" piece of hedge into the shop.

Chucked it up between centers and started turning.

Turned it round then began shaping it.

Another terrible piece by Scott. ;) ;D
-
Beautiful wood, Scott. Making a war club?
-
I see your making some Ryholite knapping tools :o ;D ;D
-
That is awesome
-
Whatcha gonna do for the handle?
-
You're right Bob, gotta get ready in case Mr Parker brings summore of that hard as heck crap he brought last year! :o
Actually, John Q. Talksalotte mentioned needin something in this dimension and I'm just waiting to see if he likes it. Feels a little heavy ta me, but the weight may not be an issue for him. In any case, he wanted to save the handle work for himself.

Nice work Scott
-
That's a brute

O man! I just ordered a large spoon gouge from Lee Valley Tools and I think this is gonna pair up nicely for some carving! The mass of this osage will be really good for handling smaller rogue watermelons, too!
-
Nice! That should ring the bell! Will make a nice "Commander".

Aww man, I wanna make one of those. I think I've got a chunk in the basement that's a good candidate.

Very nice. I made one out Ironwood many years ago in the shape of a rubber mallet for processing sinew, still have it.
