Title: Mallet head
Post by: Stringman on April 05, 2016, 11:11:37 am: Started with a chunk of firewood and a chainsaw and brought a 12" piece of hedge into the shop.

Chucked it up between centers and started turning.

Turned it round then began shaping it.

Going for a slight barrel taper from 4" and 7" OAL

Finished with beeswax, weighs 2lbs 2oz. How's it look JW?

Actually, John Q. Talksalotte mentioned needin something in this dimension and I'm just waiting to see if he likes it. Feels a little heavy ta me, but the weight may not be an issue for him. In any case, he wanted to save the handle work for himself.
