Title: primitive style clothes
Post by: huntertrapper on February 22, 2008, 10:03:45 pm
I dont know why i seem to never smile. :) heres a pull over capote i bought and added a hood, which is doubled blanket, and fringe to the cufs. and a buckskin shirt i made, it aint finished i have to add sleeves for when it gets chilly. and the neck is stylelized after plains tribes. it aint exactly accurate but i tried and its comfortable. and a bag i made out of a skunk( obviously) and the strap is cut from an old wool blanket which i also used for the hood on the capote. ;D i might use it for when i am out with my flintlock or use it to carry an extra string or sinew for when i am out with my longbow. :)

HT, Nice digs. You did a good job with your shirt and skunk bag and the hood for your capote. Does the skunk bag smell when it gets wet. I used skunk for string silencers and every time they got wet I would look around for the skunk til I realized it was the string silencers. ;D     Pat

Great job, looks like you are ready to go.

Pat, I have sent skunk to a commercial tanner and it still stinks when it is wet.  Justin

Great looking stuff, looks like you did a good job on all of it. You don't see skunkskin bags every day, that's just too cool.
PS-your house must be built on a really steep hillside.  ;D  ;D
