Doubt It will be done by Marshall , remember I am slow.
I am super busy with a whole lot of things.
Going to the TAS shoot this weekend Then on to the Classic  and trying to pull a comunity together  to build  " The Well Community and Youth Center " our community is falling apart and needs all the Love they can get.
Joella is coming up from Tennessee to give me the training I need for S3DA so we can have archery at the comunity  center .
And I have not even started my mini  bow yet , so this could be a long drawn out process

So what is the secret to chase a heartwood ring.   I have a bunch of belly splits of black walnut waiting for me to chase a ring on.

In my opinion you don't  realy chase them you sneak up on them ?
might be easier for older folks than chasing LOL
Gun doc is the old hand at it maybe he wants to tell you how .

No real secret to it.  More of a tip or two.  First and foremost use natural sunlight instead of indoor lighting.  The rings will show up better.  Also have a damp rag handy.  If you lose track of the ring, give the area your working a quick swipe with the rag.  The moisture will puff up the early wood and make it stand out.  That's about it.  Josh

Thanks Josh.  Sometimes these little tips can be the difference between success and failure.  I will have to grab one of my black walnut belly splits and get to work.
