Guys. I have been contacted, again, by a TV company looking for participants in a new TV survival show. I personally have no interest but if any of you guys want to try this then let me know and I will forward you the e-mail.
-
PM me with info....Thanks
-
All over it.

I've forwarded you the e-mail

How did they get your name in the hat to be emailed about this if you don't wanna do it? I'm just curious how they find people. I understand volunteers but I'm wondering about those that don't volunteer like yourself.
-
If you don't mind, I'd like to read over that email as well.
-
I believe they originally just did a search and came across my website.
-
I applied for the last one of these, and got an email about it too. This one sounds more interesting than the last.
-
This sounds a bunch more fun.
-
Do they accept kids?
-
From the description, it seems unlikely.
-
Do they accept kids?
It would probably depend on what you mean by "kid".
-
I hope so. Im a kid at heart and often act that way. At 32... 33... I cant recall, if I cant act imature now, when can I?
-
I'm 13 but they probably won't except
-
Some kids are more mature than some adults
-
True point. I doubt the show cares though. There was a line in the email that stated, must have legitimate primitive survival skills. Maybe they would take a kid depending on knowledge and competency.
-
Just received a call back from Alanna. Gave a short interview and said they would let me know if my application was selected.
-
I hope you get picked Scott.
-
Best of luck Scott
-
I'd like the email as well. Thanks.

Good luck to you Scott, you gonna get naked like Billy? I was emailing them on the last one and backed off when you couldn't kill and eat everything you saw. I'm not into bugs when I could eat a monkey.
-
Hope you get in Scott and inject some real bow savvy into the proceedings.... if I was a bit younger... and over there... and had some survival skills I'd be all over it like a rash ::)

Hey Marc,
Im interested in seeing this email, you mind sending it my way?
Cheers

You are a braver man than I. I think I would resort to eating monkeys only after the bugs were gone.

If any of you guys do get accepted, let us know so we can watch your misadventures.

Anybody ever walk out in the woods and live for two days with nothing? Ever start a hand drill fire? A bow drill fire? Built a brush shelter that actually kept you warm enough to survive? I think sometimes primitive skills and survival skills are mixed together. The two may intermingle, but survival is altogether different.

Not in about 20 years. When I was a High school kid I did all the time, not since.

Were it easy, anybody could do it! >:D

Just asking man. I'm a bit of a survival enthusiast, maybe more than a bit. I've never walked out with zero in my pockets. I have done a few very minimalistic ventures. Its tough, fun and humbling. Friction fire is a bit**!!! Earlier this winter I grabbed a bow drill kit I had proven many times over. Rolled out a big ember on the basement floor and headed for the woods. That tiny change in humidity stopped the train. I couldn't make an ember to save my butt. I've done the same with a hand drill.
-
I have done it with a fire saw using bamboo.... talk about a work out!
-
Bare pocets is not fun, now if you have a fire kit with char cloth, tinder and some dry birchbark with a ferro rod or a lighter is a differant story. Scott I can admire you for having the b#!%s to do this, hope ya get in

I have decided I want to be the Prima Donna and have someone take care of me on the survival challenge..LOL
Bryan Irwin and I went to the woods today and we decided to start a bow drill fire with only natural material. I have seen Bryan start a fire in 15 seconds with "prepared home material". But today we used our shoe strings and what we could find. The shoe string quickly broke and ended up using para cord. I actually made my tools with a rhyolite flake to start with. We got 4-5 embers that smoked but quickly went out. Couldn't get an ember to hold a coal and start the fire. It's something that must be practiced and learned in the woods if you want to feel accomplished. I will continue learning..but until then I will be the Prima Donna.....:-)

Imagine how theatrical the "prima donna " gets to be to add drama and entertainment to the show. Oh man the fun to be had being that guy.
Of course, were I selected as the experience guy i would have fun with it. Soon as we are dropped off in nowhere I would look at the novice and say, " Ok, you know what you are doing right? " And of couse he would say no. Then I'd say, I thpight you were the guide!" Hehe.... See us standing rpund yellin for help before i let him know i was just kidding.
-
Sleek, I'd watch that show for sure!

Sick, twisted, I like it, lol.

Gald someone appreciates my sense of humor. Sorry about the typos. I have a small phone and fat fingers, and sometimes I am in a hurry.
-
If the Prima Donna was Christina Aquilera it may take longer than 30 days to get out...just saying
-
I've done quite a few adventure trips but we always had tools and gear just not a lot of food. We always relied on catching fish as food. I love to go fishing but fishing really sucks when you're hungry. I would love to think that I could do this trip but my downfall would be having cameras all over me and having to get along with other people. Your company's true colors would show within the matter of a few days of being hungry and exhausted. Good luck to anyone signing up and whoever gets accepted
-
Just out of curiosity, are you guys able to share any details about this survival adventure?
-
Not much to know yet. If I find something out, I'll let ya know.
-
I would love the info. Done a lot in the past. A week or so at a time in the mountains. Water, fire , shelter, then food.
Always went 18th century Native American.
