My sister stopped by today and showed me a few things she had found walking up the creek bed on our property. She had a beautiful spear point with a long base. It's bigger than any other point we have found. It's in really good shape and has stripes running through the rock. The other object is a mystery. It's fairly heavy and has a triangle shape with a knuckle socket shaped base. It comes to a sharp point. I've never seen a bone shaped that way before. It almost looks like a fossilized claw or something. Anybody have any info on the point or mystery object?

looks like a deer toe bone

You might be correct. It's awful heavy for bone.

Clint, I don't know as much as I wish I did, but point looks like a really strong Adena to me. Nice one. Joe.

That's really cool. Never found a single point.

Very nice points. Wife and I have a nice collection from the S.W. but we have never found one in Michigan. I like hunting points so much that I would give up bow hunting to hunt them.

Most Adena points I have seen have a rounded base, however it does look Adena otherwise. I would also go with a deer toe bone. Nice finds, it's great how finding points and things opens the mind and allows you to wonder over time and possible possibilities. Hope that made sense....lol
Thanks for sharing

I made an attempt to learn how to knap a few years ago. I never took the time to sit down and figure it out. Plus I don't have any good rocks nearby. I think I'll stick with making bows.
