This one came from a stave I got from Greg. I split the belly off and gotta 56 inch bendy out of it and this is the remainder. I started on it last week at Chris's house. Had a few little issues but nothing too crazy. From splitting the belly off I was not left a lot of thickness in the handle so I left the sapwood in include a little piece of ipe on top of it. On the belly side I built it up with Purple Heart and spalted basswood I got from Chris while in Michigan. Not quite sure why I put purple heart on the belly and ipe on the back, not sure I like it that color combo but the handle fits perfect and I'm not redoing it. I'm going to say this Bow is 45 - 48 pounds at 26 inches and has a very smooth cast and dead in the hand. 60 1/2 nock to nock. Thanks for looking

Nice one Paul! I like the laminations on the back of the handle.

Sweet! It didn't look like that when you left last Sunday afternoon. I might have to whack some more of that basswood stump off.
-
Yeah I got some shop time in over the weekend. I had the kids all day sunday so I drag them out to the shop with me. Cost me a half a bag of marshmallows though....
-
Great looking bow. I love how you built up the handle. Great job!
-
<snip> Cost me a half a bag of marshmallows though....
A most nominal investment for such a massive and overwhelming quantity of cuteness!!!
