New acquisition for my collection. Very large partially beaded sheath. Buffalo rawhide liner with brain-tanned and beaded deer hide cover. Old time colors of black, pink, white, blue and greasy yellow. Sheath is 4" wide and 12" long plus 12"-14" fringe.
Replica of the sheath worn by Kevin Costner in Dances with Wolves.
Sheath by Dave Hagstrom and knife by me.

Yes Beadman it's a large knife to be sure. 9 1/2" blade, 1/4" thick and approximately 16" OAL. I've used that to cut 4" diameter trees, makes short work of it with all the weight it brings to each blow

I have a friend who is making a knife for me. I am going to bead the sheath.
I haven't done any beadwork for a long time.
