Is anybody interested in trying a fly swap there's been some talk of fly fishing thought maybe some of us that do fly tying could swap some flies.
If people are interested we could draw names & make up a doz. to send out.
-
I'm up for it but not making a dozen. I only use one or two kind of flies down here and my favorite is from a Flip-Flop.
-
What do you think Eddie maybe 6.
-
id be into that. are we talkin a dozen different or identical? ether way would be fine with me tho
-
Sounds fun to me!
-
Six sounds good to me.
-
We'll see if anybody else wants in till the end of the week if not us 4 will do a swap.
-
Make this an annual or bi annual thing and by fall I'll join in. Gotta go buy all the supplies again now that I'm going to start but I kinda remember from when I was young.
-
Lol. Four of six done and ready to go xD
-
Eddie do you fish for trout in FL.

The only trout with have is silver and speckled trout, saltwater fish.
-
I hope you guys post pics of the flies when you make them.
-

I'm halfway done. I hope to get the other 6 done within the next few days.
-
The other six? So are we making six or twelve then?
-
I was doing a dozen since I was having fun tying them and was doing fairly simple patterns. I'm not sure what the official trade is for though.
-
I hope it's six.
-
Man I missed out on this one it looks like. I would have definitely jumped on this swap. I haven't tied any flies for a while but I have tied thousands. I grew up about 15 min from one of the biggest trout parks in the country. Bennett Springs State Park. I used to teach fly fishing down there in the summer months some.

Six is fine with me. I looked back at the first page and I missed reading that post. Sorry if I caused confusion. That's one thing I'm very good at!

-
Has anybody else received there flies yet.
-
I just received mine from jayman448 today and they look great! This week has been really hectic for me, but I'm hoping to get some photos of them posted in the next couple days.
-
Not yet, Rob. Looking forward to seeing pictures of everybodies.
-
with my luck they were picked up by customs as an invasive species XD haha
-
Wow, just look at those flys! 8) Boy those are really nice. 8) Kinda of hard to pick which of them is the nicest. ??? But just looking a the pictures, must be kinda of like looking at pictures of mountains, and then actually being there. 8) Oh yeah, great job guys, keep them coming, and keep sending all these great pictures. ::) Uh, so did you guys, kinda forget to send the pictures, that were forthcoming? ??? Don't have any way to take pictures, and then post them? ask the neighbors, 10 yr. old kid, he can help you. ;) Come on lets see some pictures of these flies. They are like Sasquatch, they don't exist, unless you have photographic proof. ;) Hmmm, a fly tied with the hair from a Sasquatch, bet that you could use that to catch catfish! :o Be like pre stink bait, lures. :P

Here are the flies I received from jayman448. I'm sorry that my photography won't do them justice. They are very well tied and look like very versatile patterns. I'm really looking forward to getting them wet! Thanks jayman!
-
that red doc spratley i tend to do well on. same with chironamids too if you have the patience. my best fish was on that green bellied tom thumb tho. only about a four pound rainbow but took me to my backing three times. i had a hard time knowing what to tie for ya, not knowing bass patterns (or if you even fish bass). anyways hope they do ya well bud
-
Nicely tied!
Patrick
-
Aha! Now that is what I am talking about! Very nice indeed! 8)

Thanks jayman! I like fishing for bass, panfish, trout, really anything that will bite. I'm sure all those flies will be very useful. It's fun seeing patterns that work well in areas other than my home waters too.
-
Here's the flies that Eddie mullet sent me I can't wait to try them out.

The green one in the middle made from a Flip-Flop will slay Bluegill.
-
Can't wait for the ice to get off the pond Eddie so I can catch me a mess.
-
Finally got my flies. Going to try to post some pictures tonight
-
Those look great, fellas. Was tempted to participate but I don't think I've tied a fly in over 10 years. Like those patterns for FL, Eddie.
-
Thanks, Steve. Copied them from a friend of mine in Ocala.

Rob, a few of those, the little white and black ones would probably work great through the ice.

-
Well the Post Office came through today. I got home this afternoon and had a nice package of Flys from Adam. Thanks for tying sending some new ones Adam. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow.
-
Jayman those are sucker spawns.
-
Nice flies!
Patrick
-
and what is a sucker spawn? is it the same as what i would call a scud? like a lake shrimp?
-
It's like an egg sack the trout around here tear them up.
