I intended to build a short bow for turkey hunting this year. Now I'm thinking as good as this bow shoots it might even get to chase elk.
65# @27 " and 57" ntn.

Very nice bend. What type of stain?
-
I used brown rit dye and alcohol. On the back I pulled it cross grain with a wide paintbrush.

Heh, Rob, nice bendy!
Would ya care to share the dimensional specs? I am interested in giving such a design a go for this year's trade!
-
very nice, I like your tiller shape,, of course 65#@ 27 will do great on elk, you got a nice long power stroke in the shorter bow,, little set,, nice :)
-
Knoll, it holds 1.75" just past the last third down to 1/2" nocks. 4" handle section with about 1" fades. I narrowed the handle to about an inch across and got it to bend there. Probably should bend more in the handle but I was getting close to a knot and had a little drying check there so I got it to bend and glued a strip of leather on back under the handle.
It settles in to just under an inch of set after shooting.

That bow has a cool primitive look to it, love that style. Nice character too and I dig the stain job you did. Take it after elk and turkey man, hope ya bag one of each.
-
That tiller is spot on, great work.
-
I don't think it turned out too bad for a stick that started out like this.

My kinda bow! Diggin the stain on the back. Kinda gives it a curly maple look 👍..... Brian

Awesome bow Rob, you did a great job all around. Really cool stain job too.
-
That's a sweet looking bow. You should definitely chase an elk with it.
-
Very nice bow. I really like the color of your stain.

That's a great looking bow. Good luck with it.

Yep!
Rob ... thanks for specs.
-
Great job on getting that thing to come around and cooperate.
-
Sweet bend man! I love it! I like how you can see the streaks left by the brush.
I have one 57"ntn that pulls 52@27 with a stiff handle. I love mine!
