Title: rit dye recipe
Post by: Puckaway on January 14, 2016, 11:53:36 am
I was wondering the ratio of denatured alcohol to rit dye? I'm going to try it on a hickory bow I'd like to to dark brown handle and tips, and fade a mixture of dark brown and yellow for a lighter brown into the limbs. I thought I read you apply with a cotton ball lighter colors first, then the dark and use a cotton ball with just alcohol to blend transition areas. Is this about correct? Any tips would be great. Thanks in advance!

Start with a cup and thin it till you get the desired color, I use a light color over the entire bow then do the areas i want to fade
