Title: Corkscrew bow?

 While in SE Utah last summer,my wife and I came across this tree on the trail descending to one of the landbridges in Natural Bridges Natl. Park.It's the worst case of twist I've ever seen. God Bless

By the looks of it, that's the only tree for miles. I am sure it is twisted from the lack of H2o
and most likley a couple hundred yeas old.  Is that the root ball in the lower left?

That would be some tough splitting.. Probaly build a crooked fire..

Those trees are also very, very old. The oldest known living tree was cut from this area in 1964, it was 4900 years old.
