Title: osage flatbow, pics heavy
Post by: Hans H on December 04, 2015, 12:43:10 pm
Hello guys,
let me show you my new osage flatbow.
She needed a bit dry heat to correct the tips for string alignement, some knots in the upper limbcaused some extra work.
Overlays from cherry root wood.
Measurements on sketch below, draw weight is 55# at 26“ and she's  1605 mm“ ntn.

enjoy,

Why are you apologetic for being pic heavy of a pretty bow?  Doncha know most of us, myself included, can't even read and just like looking at the pretty pitchers?

Must have been a trip laying her out on the stave with all those Marilyn Monroe beauty marks on her!  Good job from the layout to the final finish, this is a mighty fine example of a shooter!

Very outstanding work Hans. I also like the curves at full draw excellent tiller, sir. I hope you live somewhere that you can hunt with that beauty.

many thanks to all for your kind comliments. I`l apreciate.

Rich: unfortunately it`s not allowed in Germany
Tony: yes, the arrows Comes out pretty well and also very quickly
Patrick: 3 years ago I saved that cherry root stock maybe for knife handels or so, than I thought it can be also nice for overlays
I like the structure in it

Very nice country you are in.

I dig it!  That's as many little knots as some of my knottier little elm sapling bows.  Very cool.
