Title: cow tendon amount needed
Post by: stuckinthemud on November 25, 2015, 11:47:49 am
My local butcher has said he'll cut me some (beef) achilles tendons but he says they're only 4 to 6 inches long - how many will I need to sinew a 52" ttt bow that's 1" wide for most of its length? Other than mail-order, that's the only source of tendon I can access.

The Achilles tendon is not the best. Really you want the tendon along the bottom of the "foot".

It's the tendon that the Achilles tendon joins to at the lower end. It will be much much longer.
