Title: Looking for Pecans
Post by: osage outlaw on October 13, 2015, 12:41:18 pm
Does anyone have any fresh pecans in the shell that they would want to trade?  I have a variety of trade goods to offer.

re you going to grow them, Clint? You know the botanical name for wild pecans is Carya illinoensis and are indigenous to your area. Wild pecan is the largest of the hickories.

I was planning on eating them Pat.  I would like to plant a couple and see how they grow.

I used to have a large pecan tree behind where I used to live. Once they fell they could be eaten but I found if you let them lay on the ground until a snow the nut would shrink and become sweeter. Any of Anyone have similar findings?
