There were two black snakes within 10 yards of each other when I went to pick up flint today. Because the white flint is so rare and only located in this one area it was hard not to think of them as the "Guardians". They allowed me to move about picking the flint for the next fire; they remained motionless like stone sentinels....

How cool is that! Piano keys if you show the white flint. >:D

That's pretty awesome! Love how snakes tend to just freeze and hope you don't see them. Definitely guarding your flint

It looks like they may have been a little cold. The muscles seem to be knotted up with contractions. They do that to help generate heat. It would also explain the lack of movement.
I may have had to make a black snake skin backed bow to compliment the white flint arrows. ;)

Cool...I know where not to go now >:D

It is refreshing that you didn't automatically set out to kill these beautiful and harmless black rat snakes. They were probably looking for frogs - opportunity means life. Could also be they were looking for other snakes, or anything to eat, and mentioned, needed to warm up.

Ok he was over the flint again
