Title: Companion knife
Post by: BOWMAN53 on August 07, 2015, 10:46:32 am
I made this one for a customer who plans to make it the companion knife. His big blade is coming from peter Kohler from dark timber knives. Peter is the guy I look up to in the bladesmithing world and always gives me solid advice, so it'll be an honor to have this knife next to his. But that's a year out because of his wait list, which is why the customer wanted something now. Black paper micarta 5160 steel and a mosaic pin.

Aren't awesome beans and cool beans the same, just a different name due to culture and location?

Thanks guys.

Falcon if I had to guess I'd say it's 3/16" at the thickest.

Dang, that's heavy duty.  I like making my knives with a strong tang as well

It's just what I have to work with. If you get the edge geometry right it's not a problem.
