I got this knife blank from Hickory Bill at the last Tenn Classic. The blade, made from an old file is 3 1/2" long and overall the knife is 6 1/2" and holds a nice edge. I used antler from a shed spike elk, glued it down with 2ton epoxy and riveted it with 1/8" brass rod. I'll make a sheath soon and will post more pics then.

18" brass rod! That handle will never come loose. ;D Looks great Pat.
I got a hickory Bill knife blank at the Classic also. I haven't put a handle on mine yet.

Great looking knife Pat.

For a short knife it feel good. It is heavy though. I'm still adjusting the shape of the handle and have reduced the thickness of the blade with a file. I did try to anneal the metal so I could work it easily but couldn't get it hot enough. It did soften it enough so a file cut easily but it still takes an edge. Whether or not is holds an edge is to be seen.
I like knife making but don't have the proper tools to do the job right. I'm working on that. For now, function is my main goal.
