There is a glut of plums along the cycle track near me so I've got 2 gallons of plum wine fermenting and about 7 lb of plumb chutney made ;D
Been busy getting up on the roof to do some chimney repairs. Once I'd got the ladders out I thought I might as well get it all done. Some re-pointing round the flashing on one chimney and the other chimney needs a new capping casting on the top. A bit out of my comfort zone but it's hardly rocket science. I've got a full harness and rope myself on these days... wouldn't have bothered 30 years ago ::)
Next thing it will be the cider making, then I can get back to the bows
The plum wine is smelling really good, gotta strain it into a couple of demijohns in a few days... Hmmm if you can get "demi" johns... can you get a whole john? ::)

You are braver than I am. What kind of shingles are those, concrete?

Yeah concrete tiles, typical of what we have in the UK.
I was nervous first time up there, taking great care to clip on the harness, after a while I got too comfortable and realised I was up there but hadn't clipped the harness onto the rope round the chimney :o ::)
I gave myself a good talking to.
Like they say familiarity breeds contempt... the safety harness is an encumbrance and a damn nuisance, but if I slip or my back gives out whilst up there I'd be glad of it... too late to clip it on once I'm falling!
Never bothered with that stuff 30 years ago... but i could leap straight up there in a single bound back then ;D
the novelty has worn off now and I'll be glad when it's finished and I can get back to bows!

I never heard of Santa using a harness

I'll have to post my solar heaters.

Parachutes, my friend, less cumberson. And you do have a striking resemblance to Dick Van Dyke. :)
